It isn't for beginners though. I do work on my reeds a bit to get an easier bend though. I look at it this way, If the harp sucks to play out of the box, tweak it and see if you can get it to play better. I am going to look more into customizing harmonicas this year. A lot of real good players say you can get a lot out of a little tweaking.

Tweaking a new harmonica is quite common and a skill every harmonica player should eventually learn. I been playing on and off for many years but due to U tube been concentrating on it for a year or more clicking on the blues my favorite. I just stumbled on your site and wanted to say it is fantastic for those just starting. Wish someone would have told me this years ago and saved me half a life time of pissing in the wind in sub zero temps. Ya done well but I would like to say the best lesson you have is the 12 bar blues. Ya kept it simple and proved how it carries to all kinds of music. There are only about 3 on the internet u tube which is our life up here. Yours is the best from a simple stand point that works...... I learned from you bud... so here is a old eskimo tip! If you want your harp to stay fresh when you take it out of the case and start to play last nights Salmon bake sucking into the reeds.... Take a stick of Black Jack or Beamans Clove chewing gum and put it in the harmonica case you store your harp in. When you pick it up next time it has a great air fragrence that is easy on the lungs... Fresh air is a good thing on the ice..... The lessons seem easy to follow and i thank you for the help you are giving to new devotees.

So thats what bending is! The idea is to get the feel of the jam while working on single hole blow and draw in the core 4 holes. The tape on the harmonica is to get you comfortable in that zone. Just play.

At this point, don’t worry about the specifics. I have just discovered them on you tube so am playing catch-up. Taking my time though. First got interested last year when Giles King held a workshop at a blues festival but never found the right type of lessons for me, thanks for finally providing them! lol

Have you tabbed out the track at all?
