Learn Harmonica In 30 Days Day 17 Harmonica Tweaks

Harmonica Notes Learn Harmonica in 30 Days, Day 17. Today we are taking a quick side track into tweaking. It’s something I learned from Adam Gussow. I way to flex the reeds to make them easier to play but be careful you don’t want to bend them too much because it will trash your harp. I have been having trouble with my harp so I bought a cheapy to check it out. It ain’t half bad with a little tweaking.

Tweaking a new harmonica is quite common and a skill every harmonica player should eventually learn. It isn’t for beginners though. I do work on my reeds a bit to get an easier bend though. I look at it this way, If the harp sucks to play out of the box, tweak it and see if you can get it to play better. I am going to look more into customizing harmonicas this year. A lot of real good players say you can get a lot out of a little tweaking.
